What he did:
Winton could no longer stand the conditions of the refugee camps for the children. Therefor, he took matters into his own hands. He left back for London and immediately mad arrangements for the children to get out of there. In 1939 Winton rescued at least 669 Czec children from the Jewish death camps, and sent them to foster homes throughout the world. For the next 50 years the children did not know who had saved them. It's said that he hadn't been recognized until his wife had pulled out a leather suitcase from the attic and seen letters from the kids parents. He truly did the right thing, and changed the life of many kids.
